Odd behavior

Last week my BP went into shed, after a complete healthy full one piece shed and poop I removed her, put her in a tub and cleaned out her viv. I looked up what can be used to clean inside and I saw bleach was ok. I used maybe a cap full with a ton of water, scrubbed and wiped dry then let it air out for a bit. Now shes been roaming all over the viv constantly and she was never like this before. From my understanding, when BPs are comfortable in their husbandry they stay in the hides. Shes completely fine with me handling her but she looks like shes just always trying to find a way out lately. Did I do something wrong? Any insight would be much appreciated. Also she not interested in any F/T food I've presented however I did just switch her over from live. She only had 2 F/T meals.

substrate: Coconut Husk
Cold side: 77deg/60%hum
hot side: 84deg/40%hum
UTH: regulated at 90deg on hot side
Water: filled and changed daily

Your husbandry is spot on.. And, considering that, I am going to gamble to guess that you did indeed rinse the viv several times before wiping and drying out. And, so long as you rinsed multiple times after the bleach, the bleach SHOULDN'T have left a residue that would be bugging her. Which, leaves me stumped as to why she may be doing this. I know it's a pain, but considering that is the only change, maybe rinse it again numerous times with no cleaner or bleach or anything, just a hot rinse...over and over.
I'm sorry I haven't any better suggestions...

IMO, it sounds like typical ball python behavior and not odd at all. Especially after a shed a bp will typically be hungry. Just wait a week or so and try to feed the f/t again. Maybe just wait 4 days . And feed her in the complete dark with just a small flashlight so you can see to get around. :D

If you completely cleaned her tank she's probably just getting used to what amounts to a new enclosure for her. Completely new smell and a snakes sense of smell is way more powerful than ours is. Personally Ive always used a solution of water and vinegar to clean my cages with great results and rinse and wipe dry twice with plain water afterwards. Just because we can't smell the residue of vinegar/bleach doesn't mean the snake can't.

You've washed out her scent and now she checking out why it is gone. All is new. Normal behavior.

Thanks everyone! I was just worried about this and I'm new in this hobby! Rather be safe than sorry, I'm going to remove and rinse the viv again tonight.
