Need help!! What's wrong with my baby ball?
Re: Need help!! What's wrong with my baby ball?
Hmmm... Good question! Could you give some information on how you are caring for him, his caging, heating etc? It could possibly be burns, but to me it looks like someone rubbed red lipstick on him!

He has a heating pad on the side of the tank. The temperature doesn't drop below 70 and the hot spot is 80 to 90 usually. I use aspen shavings for the bedding. I tried to wipe it off because that's what I thought haha but unfortunately it didn't come off

Is the heating pad regulated by a thermostat? If not unplug it and buy a hydrofarm thermostat on Amazon for like 30$. Good luck

A HEATING PAD ON THE SIDE OF THE TANK IS POINTLESS..AND IT MUST BE REGULATED...2 70 ambient is to low and 80 hotspot is to low.. I would highly suggest you do some reading on here about basic husbandry and correct the issues before they become a real problem.

I'd be willing to bet that the glass where the heat pad is stuck to is a heck of a lot hotter than 90. An infrared or contact/probed thermometer will tell you for sure.
Here is the proper way to use a heating pad for ball pythons (especially in aquariums):

What people are trying to say is; it looks like your snake has been burned. Considering its on his side instead of on his stomach, it was most likely from the UTH getting way too hot. If you don't have the UTH connected to a thermostat then the heat pad is probably more like 170 degrees, which could easily burn if not kill your snake. You absolutely need a thermostat with a heat pad
