    temp and humidity controllers
Can anybody tell me how they work? It seems like a good idea to pick one up, but i want to be sure i understand it and am ordering the right thing if i'm gonna spend about $75 on it... how do they work? have a reptifogger and a zoomed UTH, how does the controller attach to them to control their output? this is what i'm looking at picking up, anybody have a warning i should know of against that product? Thanks guys!

this looks like a 2-in-1 device.

    1. it's a thermostat to hook up to your UTH. it limits your UTH from getting too hot and burning your snake.

connect your UTH, u set the thermostat to like 90 degrees and measure the temp of your warm spot. increase your thermostat until the warm spot is like 89-91.

(if u are using a UTH without a thermostat right now, u best unplug it before someone on the forum yells at u. lol ;) )

    2. looks like you hook a mister or fogger up to the device and msuits/fogs your tank to keep it at a preset humidity level.

i'm not familiar with this device. look up the same product and read the reviews on Amazon. i have Hydrofarms for my tanks and a Herpstat for my rack. and i mist my tank/tubs with a spray bottle. but this device looks neat and i like how it saves your settings in case of a power outtage and has an alarm.

I would look up and see what position it fails on...some of the cheaper models work but when the fail they fail wide open and it no good....know someone who lost a rack full of snakes(2300$) to a failed hydrofarm.

i don't know the fail position or max wattage of the Hydrofarms off the top of my head, but it does work well in a single tank/tub set-up. i would not trust it to run a rack with rows of heat tape or hatchlings. it's not a proportional thermostat but provides a consistent temperature.

ok i'm leaving work now. have a good weekend forum snake peeps. :)
