UTH: Side heat?

    UTH: Side heat?
    I was perusing a catalog and noticed a UTH diagram that says "SIDE MOUNTING PREFERRED" does this effectively heat the tub? If so, does it still require a thermostat?

    I'm not sure if it would still heat the tub the same as it would on bottom, but I would imagine you would still need a thermostat or dimmer.

    You would still need a thermostat no matter where you place the uth. No they wont heat the tub, uth only heat what they contact and the imediate area, if you wanna raise ambient temps you either gotta raise the room temps or use another heat source thats not contact based

    Thanks! I've been using lamps (UGH) and just ordered my thermostat :) it'll be here by next week with the temp gun
