changing bedding in a large viv
Hey guys, I'm wondering some opinions, because after much googling I feel like I still don't have an 'official' answer... My BP lives in a 55 Gallon viv, and i'm wondering how often I need to replace her substrate when it's larger like that. I've been taking out her props to disinfect weekly, and scooping turds when they come (about weekly) but I've ready that when it comes to fully replacing bedding people say anything from monthly to every six months at that enclosure size. What do you guys think? I've been doing about monthly, and thankfully found an incredible local reptile store that sells the bark way cheaper than petco does, but it's still a pain in the butt to do the FULL thing. Can I space that part out a little more? nothing has smelled or looked moldy/mildewy.

What I do is spot clean daily, then do a disinfect / complete change out every 2 weeks. But mine are in smaller tubs.

Id say as long as you get any pee that spreads, and do a thorough spot clean, you could go at least a month.

I clean all my tubs weekly.
This is one more reason I got away from tanks.
Our dragons get spot cleaned daily and deep cleaned monthly.
