    Emergency, please help! Prolapsing rectum??
    Hello everyone,

I first made a post here asking for help with my very skinny piebald python, Chi. I came back from the gym an hour ago and my husband pointed out to me that Chi was defecating and that it looked very strange. I've never seen her do this, but research suggests her rectum is prolapsing. I'm not sure what to do-- she seems to maybe be constipated. There is feces still sticking out and it seems like she may have popped a blood vessel by trying to force it out. I had petroleum jelly on hand and applied the jelly to her exposed parts very carefully without touching the feces. What do I do now??? Should I put her in a warm bath to help move the feces? It's far too late in the evening to see a veterinarian, and I am afraid for her.

    Attaching pictures.

Change substrate to paper towels and keep moist.
You could try a warm soak for about 10 minutes.

The looks of that one, you will need a vet trip. Good luck.

warm soak and gentle massage since posting has succeeded in helping her pass an enormous poop. I continued soaking to rinse her rectum. I have checked veterinarians in the area, we have one exotics vet but he will not be in until 8 AM tomorrow, no emergency services will handle snakes.
