    Hello! ^^ A newcomer's question!
Hello guys 😃 this is my first ever post as I'm new to this forum (though I have been coming here a lot for info). I'm a relatively new owner of a female Enchi ball python, my first ever actually! Her name is Cleo and she's about to turn 3 months this 18th September (hatched 18th June).

She's been eating well (she took all of her 6 meals) and she is such a nice and curious girl ^^ So I understand that there is no "correct" standard with regards to the age/weight/length ratio, but I'm just curious about Cleo. She is now about 60cm (24 inches/2 feet). I still need to weigh her, but when she was 2 months she was 170g. Now I think she is much heavier than that.

My question is, is she growing really fast for a ball python? It seems to me that she is :D I feed her F/T mice weekly (1 per meal). It would be great if you guys can tell me the age/length of your ball pythons! 😊

    :welcome:

glad to hear that your baby BP is doing well. 6 meals so far? how many times has she pooped? if she's still full, she may seem bigger/heavier.

My normal is 4 1/2 foot, close to 1900g and is 3 years old. My pastel is over 2 foot, maybe close to 800 grams maybe 8/9 months old. My honey bee is over a foot, weight unknown, and almost 3 weeks out of egg.

The growth rates of BP's seem to be pretty unpredictable! My girl is 9 months old and only 172g. She's very healthy and never rejects a meal (even if it's a day or two before schedule... She'll start pacing her enclosure when she's hungry and that's my cue to feed her! lol) Yet her sister is 450g and will regularly go off feed for weeks at a time.

Stop focusing on the weight and focus on the overall look. BP size vary depending on feeding (prey size, feeding frequency, fast etc) but even 2 individuals fed the same way can vary greatly in size.

Bottom line weight is a number the important is that your snake is healthy well hydrated and well proportionate.

Yep! I was so worried about her weight when I first got her that I actually brought her to the vet thinking that there was something wrong... They ran a few tests and shes perfectly fine! The vet said she's very healthy and strong and that she's just a slow grower. :)
