    New state and cage advice
I have a BP, just over 2 years old now that I am expecting to arrive next week. Im upgrading him from his 15-20 gallon glass tank that he was in when I was in Tucson, Arizona (hot and not humid), to a AP T8 to where I moved to, Detroit Michigan (cold / humid). I was hoping for a suggestion as to substrate to try first, in Tucson I was using Cypress mulch to help increase humidity, but I don't think it'll be necessary here, plus I assume this AP cage will maintain humidity better than the glass tank.

Michigan is very cold, im guessing you will be missing Arizona very soon (i lived in michigan for 10 years). Aspen is always good.

I would still use cypress, at least in the winter as it does get dry in the Midwest when everything is frozen. If you do want to use cypress year round it simply won't require as much misting / maintenance as other substrates in the warm months.
