Brown areas on nose, anything serious?
Hey guys, I took my BP out today to clean his cage, and I noticed some brown areas in between the scales of his nose, is this anything to be concerned about? I don't remember seeing it when I got him. He was hatched 7/31/15, 77* cool side, 91* hot side, 66-70% humidity. ( Although when I took him out I noticed he's getting ready to shed, so ill bump it up a bit more) Just fed on Saturday.

EDIT- I noticed on one of the pictures I posted a few days ago he has it also,

I really can't see anything. Could they be mites? Although they are usually along the bottom jaw line

If you click the picture, it should make it larger, it's hard to get a clear picture, there not mites, it just looks like a brown discoloration in between a few scales on the front of his nose.

it just looks a little grimey, like something got stuck between the crevices of his nose scales/heat pits. how's his breathing? it doesn't look infected or like an injury.

your BP is in shed? I bet it will come off with the shed. bump up humidity, let him shed, look him over and re-evaluate.

His breathing seems fine, nothing out of the ordinary. He explores every inch of his melamine enclosure at night, constantly "feeling" the walls with his nose, so it very well could be something like that. I'll check him out after he sheds!

Just thought I'd update, he shed today and the brown spots are gone! Phew!
