Phase 2 of the benefit/fundraiser for Rusty Reptiles is ready to begin!

As you know, ball-pythons.net is holding a fundraiser throughout the month of December which will benefit our very own Rusty of Rusty Reptiles. Rusty and her husband, Winslow, do outstanding rescue work with herps of all kinds, and we figured the holiday season would be a great time to give back to them a small fraction of what they give to their herps. The Admin Council has decided to donate half our profits from our Café Press store to Rusty Reptiles, but we just don’t feel that’s nearly enough.

Several people have asked about making donations to Rusty Reptiles. If you’ve already ordered from our Café Press store, or if you just have no desire for that kind of thing, you CAN make an outright donation to Rusty Reptiles. You can donate any amount you wish, from $1 up to millions, if you have it to spare.

Donations can be made in one of two ways:

    1. You can send a check directly to:

    Rusty Gilman
    61 Union St #2
    Manchester, CT 06040

    2. You can also make a donation via PayPal to this account:

    ball-pythons@ma.rr.com

PayPal donations will be sent to Rusty at the end of the month along with an itemized list of donors, and rest assured, every penny will go to Rusty Reptiles.

To make things a little more interesting, Rusty suggested a “Sponsor a Herp” program where for a certain donation, you can name and sponsor a particular herp of your choice. Rusty has provided us with a list of the animals she has in her care, and she has designated which ones already have names. (Feel free to sponsor the ones that already have names, too.) In addition to naming a herp, you will also receive Rusty’s quarterly newsletter which contains updates on her work and on the herps in her care. If you choose to take advantage of this program, please include a note with your donation (PayPal provides a little “message” space on the payment page) letting us know which herp you want to sponsor, what name you want to give him or her, and your name, address, and/or email address.

    The donation levels are:

    $50 - name/sponsor a giant
    $40 - name/sponsor a boid or varanid
    $30 - name/sponsor a colubrid, iguana, or gecko
    $20 - name/sponsor a small herp

To use PayPal, you have to have a PayPal account. If you don't already have one, they're easy enough to make. Go to www.paypal.com and follow the instructions for setting up an account. Accounts are identified by email address, so to make a donation for this fundraiser, you simply make a "payment" to ball-pythons@ma.rr.com. There is a little message box that will allow you to specify what the "payment" is for and which herp you want to sponsor.

And yes, you can do this through the mail as stated above:

    1. You can send a check directly to:

    Question:

Is it safe to assume the sponsor a herp program will be going on through next month? I'd like to wait till I get my next paycheck so I can make a better donation. Turns out I'm a little low on money this month. Might have something to do with the holidays. Or maybe something to do with a $258 traffic violation I had to pay.

Yea, because I probably wont be able to sponser one till the end of the month, and that would give me like 2 days to sponsor it.

CONTACT HIM ON AD RATES asap pls
I'm sure Rusty would be happy to accept donations at any time, any month. If there are unnamed animals left at the end of the month, and you would like to sponsor one, contact me or Rusty directly.
