    Please help, thermostat issues
I have a microclimate ministat 100, I have it on a ceramic bulb, for the past few days it's all be fine, top end heat was around 94 max, but this morning I looked and it was at 97.8 :-o I can't work out why it keeps fluctuating when i'm changing nothing. Please can anyone advise on a better thermostat I can use, or give any ideas what the issue might be?

according to the reviews, it is on/off type, so it is going to do that, you get what you pay for.

If you just want to skip all the cheap thermostats and go straight to top of the line like most of us eventually do, see if these guys ship to the uk or have a reseller that does: http://www.spyderrobotics.com/home/contactus.html

It's my understanding that most thermostats can fluctuate +/- 5 degrees, but I'm not sure

No, not even a cheap house thermostat would fluctuate that much maybe +/- 2. Accuracy of the stated temp might be bad, but if you have +/- 5 fluctuations I would recommend a rheostat as a much safer alternative.

+/- 5 degrees, no. Temp swing of 5 degrees, yes.
    With a +/- of 2 degrees set a 90 you would see 88 to 92 degrees.

The microclimate ministat 100 was turning off once it hit my set tempo on 94, it then drops -5 before kicking back in, for some odd reason though as I said last night it ended up hitting 97.8, and my BP was down the cool end not even in her hide.

I'm not able to buy the best version yet so I have gone out and got a HabiStat pulse thermostata, which already is so much better.

Sounds like the thermostat may be defective.....
