Dumeril's Boa
Hello everyone!
I am adopting a two year old Dumeril's boa and I am really excited. This will be my first Dumeril's, so I wanted to ask what your experiences with them have been? I've heard that they are very placid animals. Share your pictures if you have one! :)

Dums are cool!
There are some folks here with some. I hope to get one some day.
Congrats!

I just got mine a few weeks ago, but the experience is great so far and probably exactly like you've read about.
Very chill and placid and completely reluctant to bite, with a weirdly great feeding response while apparently knowing that the prey is already dead. She just kind of takes it gently off the tongs and starts swallowing. It is really weird. She is a 2 year old female, about 3 feet long... which is a little small for her age. She falls asleep on my lap consistently within 10 minutes of taking her out... she sleeps anywhere and everywhere, and can stay asleep on my lap for hours until I make some big movement to wake her up.

Dumeril's Boa
So cool, congrats! Mine is very chill as well, but she doesn't fall asleep like redshepherd's and mine eats live rats. My boys hold her and she's great, even seems to gravitate towards my oldest more. She's never hissed or bit me since she mellowed out and got passed her young, insecure stage of life and she's a dream to handle. They are slow growers so even now at 2 years old, they are still quite small! Mine just turned 2. Is it a boy or girl?

Trying to find a good picture to show her size, this is my best one, I guess, haha. Such beautiful patterns and they are great snakes all around!

And a silly one while she eats. :P

LOL I wish my four ate like that. Usually they rip the rat off the tongs so hard and fast that the hide and water bowl go flying.
Otherwise they are awesome to handle and incredibly laid-back critters. Just don't put your hand in the enclosure if you've been handling rodents.

Ratchet she is beautiful! I picked her up today and she is just as you all describe. She is a little tail shy, but she is a puppy. Sat in my lap for about twenty minutes on the couch earlier and just makes herself comfortable. :) She is a beauty!
Here are some pictures of her:
