    What morph to buy?
I currently have a male Pastel but would like to get another ball python (they are like chips lol). I would like to get a female but not sure what yet. I might want to breed it but not sure. Would like to keep it under 300$ preferably under 200$
    Thanks for stopping by!

Get what you like my preference is different than yours...your going to be keeping the snake for the next 30years not me.

orange dream! although i think a female might be over $300. they're great for breeding and gene enhancers to make snakes bright.

otherwise you could get a nice single gene female like a mojave or enchi. or get a spider and make bumblebees!

the choices are endless when it comes to BP's. :)

Gotta agree with frosty on this one, look through different morphs to find one that you like and if you are pretty sure you'll be breeding them look for one you like that can also produce Pastel combos that you find exciting. I house my animals in a rack, but I can honestly say that I like all my BPs enough that I could happily keep any of them in a display tank in my living room and be proud to show them to guests. Imo don't buy an animal you're not fond of just for the intent of maybe getting babies you'd like.

Best thing for you to do is to wait as hard as that sounds....

There must be a reptile expo around you at some point. Usually there is one in spring and then another in fall in most places. This also gives you the opportunity to research morphs you truly want and play around with a genetics wizard and see which morph would better suit your male. Another opportunity is to save up for something a little more exciting, even if it is only $100 a paycheck. A $100 jump can make a big difference.

I cannot tell you what morph you should get. With $300 you could even get a female with two genes in it but save up more and you could three genes or even something recessive like a piebald or hypo. Just look around at the breeders near you, find an expo close to you and save.
