    Paper towel and humidity
I never used paper towel as a bedding for any snake I've ever had. Now since I use one tank (no more tubs) because I only have one snake I keep humidity up pretty well with cypress and a occasional misting. After this mite scare I am growing on paper towel/paper substrate since it is so easy to clean up after the snake passes waste. If I mist occasionally and use paper towel permanently will I risk mold on the paper? Also what other types of paper do you guys use? I've heard of butcher paper and blank news paper but do not know where to find that :P Oh and will dyes in paper towel be harmful? I buy the plain ones usually but just incase.

    Thanks!

you'll be changing out the paper towels far too often to worry about mold growing

I have my snake on paper towel also ( he's in quarantine) and I had your same question, I just took a small plastic take out container, cut a large hole in the lid, filled it with Cyprus mulch and misted, brought my humidity up from 45% to 70%. it's been over a week now and its still holding steady at 70% without having to mist again.

I also used paper towels with a lousy mite episode. I switched my substrate to terrarium carpet which I really liked because I could remove it and scrub it out easily, and then re-use it over and over

I like the blue shop towel paper towels. They are much more absorbent
