    Is my snake sick?
I'm a brand new snake owner and I just got a female ball python. I think it's a female, she/he has yet to be prodded. She's full grown and got it from a kind of questionable owner. I've noticed something that I didn't when I first got her. Near/on her tail area, in the middle of her stomach, it turns slightly brown yellowish, there's a line and the scales don't look well. She acts and kind of eats alright. She ate at first, but after she stopped eating probably because I'm a new snake owner and still working stuff out, but it might not be. Is my snake sick?

Try posting some pics of the area in question. That may help

How long have you had her now? It sounds like a burn but post a picture so we can get a better idea

Hopefully this'll work. It looks a lot worse irl. But it's really hard to capture

Looks like a burn. If you are using an under-tank heater is there a thermostat regulating it, or is it just plugged in to the wall outlet?

Plugged into the wall, I thought it'd be alright without one. I'll get one the next time I stop at a pet store.

Yeah, I agree. They get a lot hotter than you might think. I'd unplug it and find a thermostat. It doesn't look that bad in the pic but you don't want it getting worse. You are by no means the first to have this happen.
