The 10-15% by Body Weight Feeding Guideline
You see this recommendation throughout the forum, but does it apply throughout your Ball Python's age, or is it primarily advised for hatchlings-subadults ?

My snake's not quite 2 years old, now at a little over 750 grams, and is currently on small rats (he was getting two weanlings per week recently, which he's happily taken.)

One feeding chart I've seen recommends moving to medium rats when the snake reaches 1200 grams.

My current stock of smalls ranges anywhere from 50 to 78 grams.... is one of these smalls per week sufficient, regardless of weight? Or should he be fed two, as long as their combined weight is between 10-15% of his body weight ?

I apply it up to 500 grams. After that the snake gets a small rat weekly until it hits 1100-1200 grams and then I bump to mediums for my solid never-refuse-a-meal critters. If a snake is picky and refuses often I just keep it on small rats.
