Spontaneously Favoring the Cold Hide
So my BP has started his shed cycle. I've noticed that his colors are faded, his belly is a pinkish tan, and his eyes are a clouded blue. It seems, though, that ever since this cycle has begun, he has completely ignored usage of his hot hide. I replaced the substrate under it with damp sphagnum moss because I've found that the heat penetrates it better than coconut husk and it holds the humidity. Could this be why? Do BPs prefer the cold during their shed cycle? I fear that, because my tanks humidity holds at about 51%-54% humidity (I can't for the life of me get over 60%) and because he's not using the humid-hot hide, he'll have a bad shed.
Spontaneously Favoring the Cold Hide
My adult BP will usually pick one spot about 5 days before shed and not move at all for those 5 days.
Most of the time she will pick the cool side or right in the middle. Every now and then she will get on the hottish side, but not the hottest.
