forest moss

    picked up this stuff called "forest moss" to try and boost my humidity. i would think it will work the same as spungham moss or peet moss, i imagine its the same thing with a different name....anyways, all i have to do is put it in a little bowl (so nothing gets messy) and add water right?

    Better to take a rubbermaid (or even a gladware disposable) container and cut a hole in it that your ball python can get in and out of. The moss will stay moist much longer than in an open bowl and your snake will have a secure place to hide when it needs the higher humidity.

    i have cardboard hides rightnow (shoeboxes) if i stuck some in there would it work?

    Not really ... cardboard and damp moss would mold and mold can be deadly in a ball pythons enclosure.

    well. its just for his shed (his eyes are already clearing up) so i stuck it in each hide anyways, and ill take it out when he sheds

    Wow ... not really a good idea for your snake because it can promote the growth of mold, but hey whatever right?

    hes really faded...so hell probly shed tonight..i took it out and just put it in the tank next to the hides

    hmm...his enclosure smells like moss...lo....its like an earthy small...like wet dirt...is this ok?
