    Life feed holding
So I got a new Bp and the breeder said for the first feeding make it life and small just to get him started which is fine by me my concern would be if he doesn't eat then where/how will I store the mouse and how long should I wait to try again?

If the mouse is weaned(hoppers or larger), then you can put it into a "critter keeper" type container with some food and a small dish of water.

You can make your own critter keeper with a plastic tub. Just cut a window in the top, and ziptie a wire mesh cover into place. Or alternatively, you can buy a tank with wire top.

You don't "have" to get water bottles and hangers and such. A rodent will drink from a bowl, but you'll have to change the water out a lot because they will throw bedding into the water dish. Feed them either rodent diet, or even some dog or cat food if it's just for a few days.

The best plan is to get a tank with wire mesh lid, proper water bottle and a small supply of rodent diet if you plan on using live prey for very long. Since you sound like you're going to use frozen/thawed once he's eating, that might be a wasted effort and money, since you won't need a holding pen once he's eating frozen/thawed.

Good luck with your baby and I hope he gets to eating soon!

Some pet stores will allow you to return live prey same-day if the snake doesn't take it, so ask about that. The place I buy from has that policy... Not that it works for me. My python refused a meal about a month ago, and he's currently staring at me in between eating and running in his wheel.
