Ball Python Articles

I am just curious, how many here would be interested in articles on the Pioneers of the Ball Python world? I am currently working on articles about how they "built" this industry and the hard work that went into in the 90s and early 2000s. I am currently working with Bob Clark and awaiting response from Brian at BHB. Kevin at NERD, Ralph Davis, Greg Graziani, Peter Kahl, VPI, and TSK. But how many here would be interested in reading articles as such?

I'm definitely interested! How they figured out the genetics of the early morphs, established husbandry practices, developed relationships with Africa (and how ball python farms grew over there), and ball python care products evolved (what'd everyone use before racks, etc.). I think there's still a lot to be learned from these "pythoneers," or at the very least putting things into context would allow us to appreciate the industry a lot more. We're spoiled these days!

I agree with you on that. That is one thing that made me want to do this, a lot of the younger breeders and keepers do not know the troubles the pioneers went through to make all of this possible, some do not even know who Bob Clark is. If anyone has any particular questions, type them down here. I will ask Bob or whoever I am interviewing and make sure it is known that you asked the question. Please make it related to the Breeder and their history in the hobby please.

Greg Graziani is on board with this also.

I would buy all of this information together as a book if you can get enough material! I love learning the history of the hobby and ball pythons especially; a lot of the history took place before the internet was a huge part of the reptile hobby and even after the internet happened it's all still lost amongst scattered websites and old or defunct forums. And some more history was only really known between individual breeders.

Sounds like interesting articles. Go for it

I considered that also. I'm going to try to get in touch with some of the original importers and exporters from the 90s also.
