    Always on the cool side
Hello, i have a 2yr old female ball python and she always seems to be on the cool side of her tank. She is in a 30 gallon tank with two hides one on the warm, one on the cool side. She used to alternate fairly regularly, but now she seems to always be in her cool hide. I have checked the temperatures and they are spot on at 89 degrees. Should I be concerned or is this just another quirky BP?
    Thank you!

If the temperature is what you say it is I wouldn't be concerned. What is the cool temp?

are the hides different sizes and/or designs? i've read here that BP's may choose a more comfortable hide vs. proper body heat regulation (if the hides are different).

They are different hides, i may try switching them and see if she still has a preference. She is just at 2 yrs and just hitting 1000g, is it possible she is building follicles?
    Thank you!
