Freaking Out

I'm absolutely heartbroken. The man who I looked up to for all of my knowledge on herps has moved out and I went to check his area to make sure he didn't leave anything and HIS SNAKES are still here! I have to make sure it wasn't planned before I really lose it but if he abandoned them...I'll lose my mind.

Maybe he could not take them along and felt that he left them with a very capable understudy. Quite a compliment. :)

Are you sure he didn't arrange to have them moved later? With a large collection I would want to get a few racks or enclosures up and running before bringing over the animals, to make sure there's not a problem once they arrive.

You are sure he is not stopping by to check on them? He may have just decided to move them last. Abandoning pets is something meth-heads are more prone to do. If nothing else, a good snake person has too much invested in the equipment to just leave it all behind. It also does result in legal trouble.

Nothing wrong with asking the landlord, or the neighbors.

He keeps saying he will come get them and then bailing on us. I sure hope he comes back.

So was he a tenant? A roommate? Or what? If his lease has run out and he's left property behind then the landlord has to go through legal channels before disposing of anything other than trash.

Basically he's a good friend and became homeless so we took him under our roof so roomie
