    Good News Snake gaining weight
I've owned Ziggy now for over 2 1/2 months. With all the advise and all the wisdom basically learned here my snake has a pretty good life.
I had purchased him when he was approx. 4 months old. He was very skinny body girth had that triangle shape to him. I weighed him when he was approx. 5 months old coming in just under 200 grams. I will not mention which store he was purchased from, I will say it was a large chain. I did plenty of research and was planning to purchase from a breeder but when I saw this guy something clicked (hard to explain) knowing he was not taken care of properly I wanted to give him a chance. I did receive a feeding chart which was good but I was amazed on how little they were feeding him. 5 months of recorded feeding. Basically 1 to 2 fuzzy mice a week F/T. I had started him on an adult mouse(live) once a week which he devours. He is now 7 months old and weighed in yesterday at 366 grams. Seems to be well on his way to catching up for age. I recently started him on rat weanlings and was advised to try small rat.
He is a very cool little guy and me and my daughter really adore him. Im glad I rescued him from poor conditions were he came from. I hope moving forward he remains healthy and keeps growing.

The pic on the right was taken a month ago. The pic on the left in his cage was before his last shed on Monday.
I wish more kids could appreciate these animals without being scared of them. I love how my kid is just like me in the respect that just because its not the norm to have a snake doesn't make them bad part of the family.
