Extremely active snake

I've read some threads about related questions/issues, but I couldn't quite find what I was looking for. My snake is about a year old. He's in a glass tank, most of the screen lid is covered (sorry, yeah I have a screen lid). He's got a regulated UTH, humidity levels are fine, great eater, great shedder.

He's at the point where he can stretch up and reach the top of the tank, even when he's not on a hide/wood. That seems to be fine, obviously he's going to explore and try to get out, but it's a bit obnoxious. When he's awake, he's almost constantly trying to get out; he puts most of his body against the side of the tank and pokes his nose at the screen. Eventually, he'll become unbalanced and fall down. He'll pause for a few seconds, and then go right back at it. The sides of the tank are about a foot tall. Last night, he literally had about an inch of his tail on the ground, half of his body was vertical against the glass and he had the rest of his body up against the lid.

I don't know any other snake owners in person. The reptile store I get feeders from does a good job at answering questions, but I wanted to see what you guys think because this is just probably an 'overly-worried owner' question. I don't think it's an issue that he's always exploring, but I hate it when I see him fall and I feel like he doesn't want to be in his cage? Is that normal? I just don't want him to hurt himself because he's always been a derpy snake. Thanks guys!

If he is eating, shedding, defecating, growing properly, and has no visible signs of illness there really isn't anything to be worried about. Keep an eye on his nose to make sure he isn't rubbing it raw from pushing on the screen top.

Do make sure though to double check that all your husbandry measurements are on par. Are you using an infrared heat gun to take hot spot measurements?

Different snakes have variable personalities. Some just do dopy things like this.
