    I'm confused by 66% Het
    I don't get why it is 66%. Why isn't it 50%?

    Penultimate
Het Albino x Normal = 50% het albinos

Het Albino x Het Albino = 66% het albinos and some visuals

There's a higher chance of a het x het breeding making more hets than there is of a het x normal breeding. Does that make a little more sense? :)

66% het is normal looking offspring from two 100% hets. They have a 66% chance of being a het
Offspring of visual recessives are 100% het
The offspring of a 100% het bred to a non het has a 50% chance of being a het

Basically it means that the animal could possibly be het for whatever recessive trait. A 66% possible het is more likely to be a het than a 50%

There is an excellent explanation here

When crossing HETs together you have the chance of making 66% Hets.

Say you have a HET Albino crossed with another Het Albino. The ods are calculated to be:
    25% Albino
    25% Normal
    50% Het Albino

Now a Normal and a Het albino both look the same, so how do you know if its HET or not? Thats where you get the 66% het from.

A lot of people will pick up a 66% HET animal, raise it up and pray for the ods. A lot of times they do prove out, and you proved out a 100% HET for less money ;)

I understand now I just got confused. Right now i'm reading the thread "A lesson in basic genetics" on here and really wanting to learn this stuff haha. I've spent quite an amount of time already just trying to fully grasp the basics.

Het albino mated to het albino produces 1/4 normal, 2/4 normal looking het albino, and 1/4 albino. Think of this as a pie with 4 pieces. Three pieces look alike (normal), and one piece looks different (albino). Take away the albino, and you have three pieces left. One of those is normal, and the other two are normal-looking hets. Two of the three pieces, or 66% of the pieces, are hets. The trick is to figure out which are the desirable hets and which are the less desirable normals. :)
