anyone know a good DIY for installation of heat tape?
I'm going to build my own racks, which is simple enough.

But the heat tape has to be done right, or else things can get catastrophic, and no one wants that.

Does anyone have a good link? Keep in mind that I am not tech savvy at all.

    Thanks.

Honestly I would recommend just ordering the heat tape, connections and wiring from RBI. They will send you everything completely wired and ready to go. All you need to do is tape it down in the racks and plug into the thermostat. Wiring heat tape isn't hard, but I usually just let a pro do it. If you do end up going the DIY route, it is definitely best to get an electrical crimping tool, makes for better connections.
