I've read that ball pythons can live 20-30 years; just out of curiousity, what is the oldest BP you've had or heard of someone having?

A breeder I know has had his first ball python for 22 years. He got her as a baby. A friend of mine has a ball python who is about 12-15 years old.

The oldest recorded one was around 47 years old in a zoo. One at the rescue center I volunteer at is at least mid-20s possibly older and closer to 30. My oldest is only around 3 and a half so hopefully we have many years left together.

I think the one in the zoo was an adult or semi adult when the zoo actually had it so it may have been 50 or so.

Thanks for the feedback. I just got my first two 5 weeks ago and they were about 2 months old. I am looking forward to watching them grow up.

Also the one that lived at the zoo for 47 years was aquired as a young wild caught male imported from Africa :)
