is this normal? deffication question
I wish I could post a picture to show what I'm talking about but I cannot figure out how to do it on here so I will try to explain the best I can. I have only had my bp for 2 months and everything had been going well, he has been eating like a champ but does not defficate often, recently he went approximately 4 meals without defficating and tonight he let loose, I was rather concerned when I saw the mess. He is almost a year old, 350 grams and approx 2 feet in length, the actual poop was about 6-7 inches in length! Also, I have paper towel substrate and the urine soaked an entire sheet approx 12"×12".. I am wondering if this is normal or is this a clear sign that he was constipated? If so how would one go about addressing/treating constipation?
Thanks for the help!
Re: is this normal? deffication question
Your bp is probably not constipated. As stated above ball pythons usually hold it in and let loose after a few meals or after they shed. Most likely not a thing to worry about. Good luck!
Re: is this normal? deffication question
very normal.you have nothing to worry about
Re: is this normal? deffication question
Absolutely normal! My pythons do it all the time, especially my big girls. Haha. :D
Re: is this normal? deffication question
Thanks for all the replies! It just literally startled me looking into what is usually a nice clean cage and see it soaked with a giant poo sitting there! Just glad to know that's normal! Also just a cool side note this was after he ate his first rat switching over from mice! :D such a great eater
Re: is this normal? deffication question
You haven't seen giant poo until you get digested rabbits And pigs left behind..lol I look forward to cleaning ball tubs
