to cut or not to cut
I have a clutch of 8 big eggs its about 48 days into there incubation period and they are collapsing pretty good. I checked the moisture its not too much but not too little just perfect. They just look super ready to cut should i?

I just had 7 big eggs hatch. Only one really deflated, and not as much as the other 2 clutches this year. They all pipped on their own between Day 56 and Day 57. They all looked really packed in there, but all seemed to know just how long to wait before completely leaving their respective eggs.

Good luck! It's hard to wait, but I believe patience is really important with these guys :) .

I have never been a big believer of cutting. I am more than happy to let nature play out. I personally never had an issue, but I have heard many horror stories about improper natural pipping.

I cut the day after the first one pips, which means I only cut 1-2 from every clutch. I would never cut at day 48 but I incubate at 87*F so mine pip around day 63.

The temptation is great, but what do you really gain by cutting early? It'll still be exciting in a week or two when they come out on their own. :)
