    Coughing fit?
Dearest Marble was having a nice soak when she suddenly started making this sputtering noise. It was loud and wet-sounding and I honestly thought it was a truck starting outside until I saw her moving. She had her mouth open and her body shook every time she coughed, so I looked her over while it was going on. I thought she was trying to vomit(was planning on feeding tomorrow, now I'm not so sure). Aside from the noisy cough, she hasn't been acting unusual. When she was done(the entire thing was perhaps ten seconds), she got right back in her water dish, drank, yawned, and then laid her head on the rim with her neck in the water and the rest of her sprawled out around the bowl. Mouth is pink and clear of pus, nothing came out of either end of the snake, and she climbed her tree and seemed to forget anything happened at all.

She's generally skittish, and dislikes being handled but is not aggressive. I had to pull some stuck shed the other day, and she stayed more or less relaxed in my hand while I worked(instead of trying to flee, which is what usually happens). She also made a clicking noise for a few minutes immediately after last week's feed(one wet rat). She's been drinking a lot of water recently, maybe it just went down the wrong pipe? I'm trying to be optimistic.

Does any of this sound like cause for concern? I've heard clicking is bad if it happens a lot, but I'm not sure if I might be jumping the gun over a couple of minutes.

Update: a massive poop appears to have been shot at high speeds to the wall of the tank. There are watery skidmarks leading to more or less where her ass was.

    Ha, that's funny!

Clicking a bit right after eating or something is no problem. It's if it continues long term or you notice other symptoms like wheezing or mucous that you need to worry.

Oh thank god. Unfortunately, she got out the other night and we haven't caught her yet. Snake, why must you be difficult?
