    Loose scales
    Hello all!

So for fhe past few times we've handled fluffy we have noticed some loose scales as we handle them. We can feel them but when we go to look for them we can't see anything strange or out of place. It seems to be when we touch his underbelly but when I run my hands down his body I don't feel anything. I've heard that you can feel scales when you go against them. But is this anything I should be concerned about? It's been 10 weeks since his last shed if that means anything.

    Thank you :)

Shouldn't be anything to worry about. Depending on the way they move, the belly scales can sometimes separate a bit.

I noticed mine felt the same right before shedding and is starting to feel that way again and I know a shed is due. It is kind of weird and hard to describe really but I know exactly what you are saying. The belly scales seem to catch on the hands easier.

Updating - I wanted to add that yep, Nicki is deep in shed alright, so the belly scales kind of catching on the hands is a pre-shed thing as I figured. She is very dark and dull skinned today and the eyes lightly blue.
