Usually you will find some dead ones in the water bowl, and usually on the snakes belly. That being said, I have had bps that just randomly soak. Even though we know they aren't prolific speakers, it's not uncommon to see a healthy snake in the water bowl. Maybe try providing a humid hide too?
I will check for mites. in the event there are any what should i do? whats the best way to treat. if there are none in the water should i treat the tank or wait until they present themself? i had another hide in his tank but he had no interest in it at all, so pulled it out and added more plant decorations that cover up a corner of his tank completely. he seems to like it. he just started hanging in his water bowl yesterday that i noticed. but it was only for about 15 minutes.
