    Granite or normal?
About a month ago, I bought a normal female from a breeder trying to lessen his collection. Today I talked to him and he told me that her clutch has hatched and he was told by other breeders that the hatchlings looked to be a granite. (I do not have a picture of them). He showed these other breeders a picture of her and they said she looked to be a granite and if this is the case, she would be proven granite. When I got home I took a look at her. Personally, I really do not know what the granite is or if it is even a big deal but I thought I would ask you guys. I tried to get the best pictures I could of her.

She does have a Granite look to her.
If the clutch did have Granites in there that could make her genetic as long as it wasn't from the father.
There are a lot of Granites out there but not all of them are genetic.

The father of the clutch is a emperor pin and has no signs of granite at all. I also did not see the hatchlings, though I wish I would have asked when I was there. How much does a genetic granite go for? I got this female for $50 as a proven normal but if she is a granite, should I have paid more for her?

Any and all morphs are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. ;)

That doesn't make sense at all... one of my favorite morphs is the spider, but I know no one would pay $500 for a $150 snake just because that is how much they are worth to me. It all depends on market. So what is the Granite in the market? It would not make sense for me to not know what they go for as an average and charge an outrageous price unknown to me (and be stuck with a snake that wont sell) or too low and loose out.

Makes sense, what Pit is saying is basically supply and demand here. Using the pied for example, when I first started with BP they were $30,000. The more that became available the more the price went down and people weren't willing to pay that much for a snake that was becoming more common, hence they are worth what people are willing to pay.

But to answer your question, $50 for a granite is a fair price. Some pastels are going for $60-75 now and Spiders for $100 or less.

I bought my lesser pastel off a breeder and was given a "granite" in the deal for $40 extra. No idea if it's genetic or not..
