Re: general rodent keeping and breeding
ok i know some people (probly most) are against this, but i dont understand it clearly. anyone here heard of boa c. longicauda?
they are from peru. my question is, they reach the same size of a BCI, they have the same requirements as the BCI (requirements, etc). so would there be any danger or anything wrong with breeding a BCL and a BCI? i was just curious.

    breeding question
I'm just not sure about the inter-species breeding.
I'm assuming since they're different species it would be hard to produce a hybrid snake, but that may not mean its impossible. I'm just not sure about the probabilities or the willingness of the snakes to breed together. I've also read up on some other hybrid breedings and normally the first generation involves alot of infertiles/deadborn animals. But generally after a few rounds of hybrid breeding it becomes more stable. But i'm actually pretty clueless on the topic, i'm just trying to go on what i've been able to google since we were chatting earlier. Hopefully one of the BCI breeders i know and have emailed will get back to me with a more detailed and explainitory response with the feasibility of your desired project, suggestions, known risks, and any other relevant information.
