Missing the good herping in this heat
Well the heat has been really kicking here lately and the herps just aren't as abundant. I will probably dial it back for the next month or so. Once it gets to July/August, I only make trips before/during/after heavy rainstorms. Anybody else anxiously waiting until it starts to cool in September.....or are you still herping full force in the heat?

Beating the heat is what the herps are gonna do, so might as well do the same! If you have the free time and a good flashlight, night time herping can be really rewarding this time of year.

Yep. I have a nightlong trip scheduled in mid-August. Most of the places I usually go...I would get arrested or shot at if I went at night. :) I have done really well in the heat....but rain is key.
