Does he have het pied markers?
Hello,
I have this boy for about a year now, he's my first snake and I just found out that some people refer to some patterns on the snake's belly and blushing on the head as "het pied markers". I don't really plan to breed my beautiful boy as of now but if you could tell me if you think that what he's got going on means anything.
He was bought from a local pet shop in Montreal and should've been born sometime in early 2014 or late 2013.

Re: Does he have het pied markers?
Those do look like they could be markers, but the real definitive way to tell is to breed the animal. Then breed the offspring back to each other. Probably best to breed your guy to a visual pied or a known proven het pied female. :gj: Good luck. That is the best way to prove out the het part or the possible het part of the genetics. Markers on the belly are unreliable. :salute:Also, when you purchased him what was he sold as?

I know, and it might not matter if I decide not to breed him, but they look like what people are showing as markers don't they?

I guess I can put an add somewhere or try to speak to some breeders or someone who has a pied or a proven het. He was sold as a normal girl.

I think markers train track pattern are more on the caudal side... Tail area... Breeding is the best way to prove it
