Switching food type

Hey all, I plan to hopefully feed this weekend for the first time on saturday since getting my BP (past sunday). I think she has been feeding live but I want to switch her to F/T mice. She's 70g right now and I have F/T rats I got at the Expo to switch her to when she hits 100g. (rats I got are anywhere from 13g to 16g). I'm just looking for any advice for the Live to Frozen switch which will make the process easy. Thanks!

There are many strategies that people use on here. First time through I would just go ahead and thaw the rats, get them nice and warm, and just give it a shot. Some snakes take right to it no issues. Some believe in doing a 'zombie dance' with the thawed rat, in attempts of making it look alive. Some think that's nonsense. If the snake doesn't coil the rat, you can try leaving it just outside the snakes hide. Ive done this over night with good success. Just make sure to throw away any uneaten rats that have been left in the cage for too long, as they do rot pretty quickly

I had one switch immediately from live mice to f/t rats and she never looked back. Others I had to transition first to live rats and then to f/t rats.

Usually at that age / size switching can be easy however I always recommend to feed what was fed previously for at least 3 meals before to attempt to switch.

Remember the priority is always to get the animal to eat for you and then swtich.

A well established snake is always easier to switch than one that is still adjusting.

This may not be of help but, what I do with new ball pythons that are eating live, this is what I do. Get a few live meals in them. Then try feeding prekilled. Move it around with tongs from the back of its neck like it's live. If that takes, keep doing that for 2-3 weeks. Then try f/t and do the same neck moving thing. If that takes, you should be set.
