The Trio Update: Conversion is Possible!
Boots, Eden, and Cleo have all been doing well! I'm pleased to say everyone has put forth efforts to cool down the porch and it was a success! I am extremely excited to announce that Boots has successfully converted to f/t. He offers no hesitation or argument :) yesterday was the first time I gave him 2 and he happily obliged! We are on the road to recovery for him :) Eden and Cleo are close to 800g each now at 3ft and eating machines! I'm expecting great lives with these kids.

My 2 girls were easy. Shortly before they turned 1, I bought a pack of adult mice and thawed them by instructions. I then proceeded to feed 2 LIVE to them to get them into their 'feeding mode'. As soon as they started searching for seconds, I offered a very warm f/t mouse. They took them like champs! The big boy was a constant battle. For months we bounced between live mice and small rats but he just wouldn't eat regularly. I tried over and over again with f/t but he turned up his nose. He went into shed and after 3 weeks, he was looking for food but I made him wait. When it came time, the rats had been in the fridge for 2 days and I thawed them in hot water and blow dried them. I offered him one and mimicked the motions of live rats and believe it or not he took it. The next feeding was hesitant but since then we have no issue and he is always looking forward to it ^^ he is 6! There is always hope! That and I knew he wouldn't eat live anymore (he's deathly afraid of live) and I think he realized that the rats can't hurt him like this ^^

This was the most recent feeding. He ate 134g of food 😄 I was so happy. He even eats OUT of his cage now :3
