    What is this Tarantula!?
    I was talking to someone about tarantulas, and they spoke of one that was one of the largest in terms of bulkiness/weight, and I cannot for the life of me find it online.
    I have no idea how to spell what he was saying, so I keep trying to spell it the way it sounds, but that's not working for me.
    So I was hoping you all could help me out! It sounded like he was saying chi-oak-in. Lol

    Plenty of big tarantulas out there but I think Theraphosa blondi and apophysis routinely exceed their competitors. Some other larger species off the top of my head are Lasiodora parahybana and to add an old world species, Pelinobius muticus.

    Did a search for "chioakin" and found this older thread on the british tarantula society forums. Maybe the fellow you were talking to was saying chicken? It's an interesting read either way.
