    New ball python!
Hi all bought a ball python from a local small shop who had come from a breeder, he was only 25g when he hatched, I have all the feeding sheets, at nearly 10 month he is now 244 grams and 22 inch, ive had him two weeks now he's been handing fine and he had the mouse on my first attemp, and according to his sheets it's very rare he doesn't eat, does his weight and length sound normal for his age? Also after he had eaten he did appear to want more should I give him two medium mice if he wants them? Think I got tempatures about right. 94 on hide and 81 on cool side, in a tank that's the size length ashim, him hide is also small and he squeezes in perfect.

94 degrees is a bit warm. Should be 90 on his hot spot. The way I pick food items is the hips of the rodent should match the widest part of the snake. I would also suggest getting him feeding on rats as soon as you can. You will have to feed him rats eventually anyway. The sooner the better.

Does him eating first time round generally mean he's happy? He was fed on the 7th in store then I fed him first time on 14th. According what I've read a 25g hatchling is tiny and breeder did very well to get him feeding good and growing

Yea 25 grams is small. Generally speaking if he is eating then you are on the right track.

Happy as we know it. He feels safe and relaxed, maybe settled which allows him to be comfortable, plus he IS hungry.

If he is now 244 grams he is definitely big enough to start on rat pups, maybe even weanling rats.
