Gargoyle gecko cage size (baby)?
Hi guys. I was planning on getting a Crestie before but then I found Gargoyle's... I love the look and size of them and think I'm going to get one as my first gecko since the care is as simple as it is for a Crestie. I am going to get a baby so I can raise it up.
Here in Canada, the 12x12x18 exo-terra's are $139 and I haven't found one cheaper. I am keeping an eye out for a used one but so far haven't found anything nearby.
Then I came across this...

I really like the look of it. It's 10x10x14. Will that work for a while with a baby gargoyle until I can upgrade? Or should I just save up and splurge on the 12x12x18 exo-terra?
Re: Gargoyle gecko cage size (baby)?
Honestly the Exoterra is going to be too large for a baby Garg. The 12x12x18 will be phenominal for an adult but a a baby is just going to get lost in that and have a hard time tracking down food. If your set on a glass enclosure the exoterra mini (possibly the cube?) is a great baby cage. I'm not positive on the name but its an 8inch square enclosure.
My personal preference for hatchlings is a 6qt sterilite tote. I slowly upgrade them into bigger totes until they are sub-adult size and I'm confident they can handle a gorgeous decked out big cage.
