Don't wanna make this too long of a post, and bore anyone. ;)

So my friend and I were playing Halo 2 all night until around 8pm when I had to feed Pelota. So we get the thawed rat(yes, I found another good sized rat at the petshop today. surprised. yay) and head upstairs for chow time. I decide to let my friend offer Pelota the rat from the tongs, and he was a bit hesitant about it. I told him to just put it on the paper, wiggle it a bit, and face the head to her. He did so, but sorta forgot to let go of the rat when she coiled, lol. Oh well, no harm done atleast.
Anyway, as usual Pelota had trouble finding the nose of the rat, but to my surprise she actually gnawed her way to the nose and got it down on her own. Usually I have to take it and rewarm the head again when she gets tired of gnawing at the back of the head, lol. Anyway, she gets this rat down like nothing, which surprises me, cuz this one was even bigger than the last one. I'm starting to think I could skip weaned rats all together and go for a small rat, but I'm not gonna push it.
So she gets the rat down, and starts flicking her tounge. Then she starts roaming her cage, and was starting to go under the newspaper. I tried to stop her, and gently lifted her up by the neck a bit to get her head from out of there, and she surprised me with a bite to my hand. It happened so fast, I wasn't sure she actually bit me. If it didn't leave two cute little fang marks and some blood, I would've never known she bit me. Kinda scares me to think what if a rattlesnakes bite was like that, lol. You wouldn't even know you were bit until the venom took effect. :( So anyway, I remove the newspaper from the cage bottom, put her hides back, and watch as she squeezes her fat self under her hide. It's cute, she's so fat, her hide just sits on top of her. When she moves, the hide moves all over the place.
So yeah, my first bite from my first snake. Didn't even feel it either. Surprised she drew blood though. I thought her little fangs would be too small to do that, lol. But yeah, now I have two little fang marks between the knuckles of my hand, and a full satisfied snakey. Yay, lol.

as far as your BP eating rats, look at the pics of mine eating a small rat. my snake is not that big, and the rat looks huge compared to my BP, check it out.

Yup, the first bite; a BP-owner milestone. :)
It really does not hurt, but it is more of a shock. It is unpleasant though!

Hasnt happned to me yet, my fiesty baby corn has managed to nail me twice though!! little booger.

Roxy is just a sweet heart, i dont worry about her much, even at feeding time.

Im very cautious with Rebel though, i dont really know her so right now im being really careful when handling her, i dont really move my hands to much, i just let her do her own thing.Im sure a bite from her wouldent feel very nice, last time i fed her i was so surprised at how fast and strong she struck at that rat.Looked like it would hurt if she nailed me.
