Round 2

Dirk entered blue eye stage today,I hope this one turns out better.I have noticed him soaking more than usual,is this normal for a snake that's about to shed?

EDIT:This is his second shed,hence the title "Round 2"

yea i guess but mine doesnt do that on its own so i soak her during shed
hey my girls eyes just did that too! we should compare to see how long it will take them to shed!

I dont soak my snakes, i really dont think its nessasary if your humidity is at the right level.

I just got home (from thanksgiving in jersey) and of course rushed to my room to check on the kids, and ruby's eyes were blue, i covered the top with saran wrap,filled the water bowl up to the rim and misted a little.Ill go back in a while and check the humidity level to see if its nice and high......im sure it will be.

well i kick my humidity up to like 75% but yet it still goes down to 60% so i still keep the humidity but i also soak so i can be sure that it will probably be a "perfect" shed

Great job, Shaun! Brandon, you're right - soaking is not necessary if your humidity levels are right. In fact, too much soaking is not good. Of course, some snakes just love to sit in their water bowls, but that's another issue entirely. Soaking can be used after a shed, or attempted shed, to loosen up any shed that didn't come off, but as a pre-emptive measure, it shouldn't be necessary.
