Want to Build; Getting Mixed Messages
I'm looking to build custom wood enclosures for my ball pythons. I've done a lot of reading on this forum and others, and I'm getting a bit confused. Is it better to use a heater such as an Intellitemp mat or a CHE for a wood enclosure? I would like to build 2 identical enclosures, and I wanted to make them stackable, but I realized there are lots of problems with the stackable idea. If I used the intellitemp mats, I think the stacking would work easier, but I'm not sure they're the best option. Please advise!

Radiant heat panels (RHP) will prob be your best bet.

Anything that screws into a socket is a big no inside of a tank, they get too hot. Some tanks have wire to protect the animal from wrapping around them, but the risk is still there. Most heat mats can't get wet so they are normally no good unless sealed away in some way, like vinyl tiles. Radiant heat panels are a easy, just screw em to the ceiling and plug into thermostat.
