    Vivarium progression
Decided to build a vivarium for one of our more active/curious kings (Elvis, a striped Cali King). This was my first time around building one. It turned out well though there were some things I will do differently next time.

I built a false back from cardboad and added spray foam. Then cut the foam as I wanted it. In hindsight I should have done this outside of the tank.

1st paint coat with black added for shadows. I use a blending technique in which I do not allow the fist layer of paint to dry before adding details.
Next time definitely need to tape off the area around where I'm painting. I shall have to scrape later.

Plants added. Just waiting on the snake. Going to let it set up for a few days first.

I used an organic topsoil with sprugham (did I spell that right?) moss added in and mixed with soil from outside. I think I'm going to add a layer of leaves as well.

Thanks! Unfortunately the background started to warp and I had to rip it out yesterday. Starting over on it now :-(

I would start with a better and sturdier base then cardboard this time, other then that it looks fantastic!!
