Got hissed at for the first time.
I was wearing gloves because I was handling my new Kingsnake as I didn't know what his temperament would be like. Afterwards I picked up my pastel banana and he hissed at me when I picked him up. I put him back and five minutes later I opened the tub without gloves and he was his normal self. He is quite tame and doesn't even ball up.

Re: Got hissed at for the first time.
Bp probably smelled the kingsnake. That Arizona mountain kingsnake should be safe to handle without gloves but you have to be careful if you have the scent of the bp on you bc kings are ophiophagus! Meaning they eat other snakes. You must wash your hands well between handlings of the two. They really should be in separate rooms. :O :O
Re: Got hissed at for the first time.
Wow I didn't think it would be that bad. I have the Kingsnake in a terrarium on my dresser and the ball python rack is next to it. If I moved the rack to the other side of the room would that be ok?

Quarantine quarantine quarantine If you just got the kingsnake it should not be in the same room ıf posable for minimum of 30 days I do 90. If the New snake has mites or any other sickness it can spread rapidly. Especially mites ıf the king has them now ur bp has been exposed to them through ur gloves. Quarantine quarantine quarantine

Re: Got hissed at for the first time.
Good points. I checked the snakes over thoroughly but it's better to be safe.
