Stuck 2nd shed, or new coloring?
My male BP clown het recently shed. It was all one piece (except for a little shredding from the substrate) with the head piece totally in tact including both eye caps and all the way to his tail tip. However, his head used to be a solid dark brown. If you look at the attached pic, it looks alot lighter and when the light hits it right, it looks like there is still shed left behind. Although the head had all scales present and accounted for. Being that it's on his head, I can't exactly soak him. Should I try just lightly rubbing with some water? Hes a little head shy still but, allows me to gently rub as he passes through my fingers. Did he just rub it too hard to get his shed going? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've seen spots similar to that, although a little smaller. They looked like dry patches. They cleared up after a good shed. I'd just watch him and make sure the humidity is up for his next shed...

Humidity was anywhere from 70% to a low of 55% (if I hadn't misted the enclosure all day). So, nothing to worry about until next shed then? Thx again.

It was just a little strange seeing the transition from such a dark brown to the light tan. Of course, this is my first bp and I'm still learning alot.

Unless someone else chimes in with something of concern, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep an eye on it and next shed should clear it up...

I'm sorry I'm new to the forum and a new BP owner. I have had my BP for about 5 months now. His last shed was left behind in pieces I have worked on getting his humidity higher. 65 now. But he still has a couple pieces on his head including his eyecaps... will the next good she'd take care of his left overs?

Me ballpython (normal) started out with a almost black head but now is almost yellow after a few sheds. I would not worry about it.
