is it good for a ball tp have a reptile tube light. does it bring out more color or anything in them?

By reptile tube light, are you refering to the UVA/UVB tube lights? A ball python doesn't really need it. As for bringing out more color, I've never tried it.

If you do mean UVA/UVB bulbs, they do not have any effect on coloration of your BP.
The UVB allows your BP, and all reptiles for that matter, the ability to regulate their own Vitamin D3 levels, which eliminates the risk of vitamin D3 overdose from synthetic sources.
UVA wavelength increases appetite and physical activity, while helping to induce reproductive behaviors. UVA rays are also beneficial to the psychological well-being of captive reptiles.

My friend is studying to be a Herp Veterinarian, and he did a paper on the effects of "natural sunlight" on captive kept reptiles. During his studies he found quite a bit of information related to the positive effects of UV light on captive kept reptiles. He concluded that for the health and long life of ANY reptile, there MUST be a source of UV light available. He shared a lot of this information with me and since I did not have a copy of his paper, I went and checked a box from the UV lights I use for my BP's. Anyway, many of the "selling points" are listed on the box, and those I listed above are just a few thats were listed.
I actually use PowerSun UV by ZooMed for my snakes. It is a visable light so I have them on timers to duplicate day time/night time. I hope this helps.
