Does anyone else with a snake room go through this much planning before making any changes? I'm adding a new hatchling rack tomorrow and I had to make sure it would fit before I started moving things around for real.

Pretty much like my room I have adults (BP. Hognose, Hondos) on one side and all the hatchlings on the opposite side, and the room has been rearranged a few times over the years, hopefully rearrangement was really the last one.

I don't go so far as creating diagrams, but I have everyone strategically placed in relation to the spaceheater so that the tropical guys get what they need without me overheating my temperate species or inverts.

Great to see someone using scetchup! To answer your question, no I don't do that much planning.. lol

On a side note about sketchup.. I had a job where we were building post and beam houses. We cut down and milled directly from the trees on a customers property and built. Long story short, I was put in charge to build 1:1 diagrams of the 3 houses we built while I was employed. These diagrams were detailed down to the lag bolts, and individual ship lap siding pieces... Talking hours of work in that program.

    Aaaaaaand... I couldn't wait.

I spent an amazing day building the new hatchling rack, cleaning all racks, and re-arranging to make everything work for me. To top it all off, I ended up ordering all of the V-18 tubs I need for the new rack for the price I thought I was going to pay before shipping. Woot! :w00t:

Here she is, still with plenty of room to grow:

Fancy! I just walked around with a measuring tape. My boyfriend was really impressed every time I said "how about moving the freezer to this side instead."
