Do Blue Eyed Leucistic's eyes lighten after first shed?
We got our first BEL (Lesser x Lesser) and her eyes seem pretty dark. In photos they look extremely black, and in person they're kind of a stormy dark grey, but not seeing much blue going on. Do they lighten after the first shed or are the eyes just varying degrees of blue depending on the snake?

    What color are the pupils?

If the eyes are completely black then it is a black eyed leucistic and most likely a fire x fire pairing. They do sometimes have greyish, blue and greenish blue eyes. Usually they are more blue then anything though. And I have never seen a snake's eye change color so no, it will stay the color it is.

The pupils are red. The pairing was Lesser x Lesser. Not Black eyed leucistic

This was your own pairing? Were there any other BELs produced with different eyes? Were there lessers produced? The eye you are describing is a Black eyed leucistic all the way, especially the red pupil.

It was our pairing. Lesser Pastel Spider x Lesser. Only one BEL in the clutch and the rest of the clutchmates all have lesser in them. After talking to other breeders, some say it may be spider or pastel influencing it, and another person says they'll turn blue after shed. Pictures don't really help as they look pitch black in photos. In person they're a stormy/dark grey color.
